At Municipal Charities of Plymouth, we strive towards the prevention or relief of poverty across Plymouth. To help young people in need pursue specific training or educational goals, we manage a fund, officially known as the Joan Bennett Exhibition Endowment Fund.
About the Joan Bennett Exhibition Endowment Fund
Joan Bennett’s Exhibition Endowment is a registered charity (charity number: 306609). The fund provides small grants to help young people from Plymouth, typically of school-leaving age, to set up in work or for special educational purposes, such as training for a specific job.
For instance, this could involve money for transport to college for someone who cannot afford to pay their bus fare or related transport costs, thus enabling them to pursue their professional education. Alternatively, the endowment fund might provide a young person who wishes to become a chef with the means to buy a set of chef’s whites or a set of kitchen knives, thereby allowing them to kickstart their career.
